Celebrate deviantART's 14th Birthday!
Fourteen years of existence marks a period of growth, change, and introspection — an era of creativity and emotion that leads to long-term personal and artistic development. As we celebrate deviantART's 14th birthday, we want to thank all of you for joining in on the journey of growth and development, from the deviants who have been here from the start to the deviants who are starting out their deviantART experience today.
How has deviantART helped you grow as an individual and/or as an artist? Tell us your story through an art feature Journal!

A probable solution to commission chargebacks. by viralremix, journal
A probable solution to commission chargebacks.
Artists who create commissions know one caveat with accepting PayPal: their Seller Protection doesn't cover services, so they can and will be SOL if the buyer decides to dispute the transaction. While Buyer Protection doesn't cover services either, PayPal is notorious for ruling in the favor of the buyer, so the seller needs to look into other ways of protecting themselves.
Which leads to our discussion here, of how we can leverage Seller Protection to ensure scamming buyers can't run off with the money after the service is completed -- by converting your commission service into a tangible product.
Seller Protection covers tangible products

Yes, I do not mind if you use this as a thumbnail or etc for your own adopts as well ! //
Please do not :
!! Complain about prices. Comments that relate to saying that you can't afford or saving money, etc like those are perfectly fine ! The ones i'm talking about are the mean spirited ones such as 'wow these are so not worth the price' or ' these adopts suck '
!! Disrespect either myself or the buyer by complaining about how much they bid or shaming them for wishing to spend that much. It is their money so let them use it as they wish ! They do not control what you use your money for so please do not try to control what the

:star: Welcome to Wonderland :star:
Greetings, stranger.
I find myself delighted to lay my rather large eyes on you. A purrfectly delicious mystery awaits you. Won't you come this way?
I've been a bad kitty-- a very naughty, naughty feline, indeed. You see, today is Alice's Unbirthday, and all the inhabitants of Wonderland had planned to join her and the Mad Hatter for tea and cake. But, the Mad Hatter, being quite a bit off his rocker, is requiring that everyone wear a hat to the party. Anyone without a hat cannot attend.
Whoops! Mysteriously, *smile* all the hats in Wonderland have gone missing. What a shame, what a shame. Whatever shal
Many people, especially emoticonists, have been wondering about this mood system. As far as I know, spyed (https://www.deviantart.com/spyed) came up with the idea, and he told me that it's his favorite project that was released with v5. spyed (https://www.deviantart.com/spyed) messaged me around 2am a few nights ago and asked me to take a look at the Mood System. He explained to me what it was and what his vision of it was. I went through the list, adding in emotes and categories/sub-categories. A half-day later, the moods system was complete with 190 total moods and emoticons. Many of these emoticons were not in emoticon legend. I could have picked out more that were in there, but I ultimately decide
Anyone who has been an internet user for a period of time should know that drama is one of the hallmarks of the absolutely wonderful technology that allows us to be connected 24/7. It's like glitter, one moment all you see is just a fleck of it then suddenly, it's everywhere. DeviantArt is chock full of massive amounts of it (drama, not glitter!) at any given time, so let's talk about what you need to know to avoid it (aaaand what to do if you find yourself in it)!
